Mind and matter mingle
Sometimes cloudy, sometimes clear
The ocean not so different, water mixed with air
We linger most at borders
Sunlight, waves and wind collide
Push and pull, splash and roar remind us that we are
Matter and mind mix to make weather
Eddies and wishes and rivers and clouds
Everything wrapped in time or sorrow,
Pull of the star, pull of the moon
At the edge we do our learning
Thought and breath and motion
Eyes closed, listen to the wind
every step a wonder
We can’t deny we’re here at the edge
Death and life each moment.
How many chances there are to be,
Here we are, look! We have this one.
So brief, these moments of living and wishing
How solid it feels as we splash by the shore
Who are the others riding this planet?
Where does the wind go after the storm?
